A deductive essay is essentially formed based on the same logical reasoning as a deductive argument. This type of argument is based on the idea that circumstances are given that will lead to a logical conclusion. The premise behind this type of logic is that if a person is given enough information they can solve the problem or come to a logical conclusion. Deductive reasoning is not that unfamiliar, even though a person might not realize it. Deductive reasoning assumes a logical progression along a likely path.
